The Conservative Party
Platform:
The Conservative Party is a Right-Wing Party for Generally More Freedom, and Less Taxes. They strike down all new taxes and Freedom Infringing Laws/Bills. They draft up laws to lower taxes and for more rights to the people. They are Pro-Private Sector, and for Health and other Human Services they are pro-privatization.
TAXATION
Taxation has to be simple, transparent, and low. CP believes in two bands of income tax and no more - the easiest thing to do in the world is for politicians to hammer out an ugly compromise that they can all tolerate, with several bands and a vast bureaucracy to work out who's paying what. For us it's simple - one income tax, two bands, and the upper band must be no higher than 20%. Sales tax should be zero on essentials and things that the government mandates you to buy, and flat on everything else. Corporate tax should be flat.
BUSINESS/MARKET
CP are a pro-market Party. We reject subsidies, corporate welfare, and bailouts. However, though we are more than happy to work with and have in our ranks laissez-faire opinions, the party is not quite laissez-faire, but rather Conservative - CP believes that the market needs basic rules and regulations to keep it truly free and to allow it to achieve its full potential. Moreover, CP is open to the idea of a microfinance-style scheme whereby ordinary underwrite loans to unemployed people wishing to start up a business.
In terms of fiscal policy .Though we understand that in tough economic times we may inevitably run small deficits, we reject the idea of sacrificing our taxpayers at the altar of 'Keynesian stimulus' - a government cannot spend its way out of a recession. It is imperative regardless that we run a modest budget surplus throughout the 'good times', and we are open to the possibility of using those surpluses to found a sovereign wealth fund. However, said fund would have to be firmly independent to ensure that it doesn't become a state subsidy machine.
